LUMINA is an opportunity for talent, creativity, and passion for cinema.
LUMINA is a non-competitive format for short films by young directors under 25—an artistic hub that celebrates the charm of high-quality shorts and the challenge of crafting powerful stories within a brief narrative span. It has no set genre, only the distinctive style of each filmmaker in bringing stories, people, and emotions to life.
Our goal is to promote the Island of Giglio as a destination through visual works that highlight its essence beyond conventional landscape and cultural stereotypes. LUMINA seeks, above all, to tell unique stories that evoke the places, atmospheres, and experiences the island’s magic brings to life.
For 2025, four directors have been selected to premiere their works in June during a dedicated event.

LUMINA is LA GUARDIA’s creative format that tells the story of Isola del Giglio through a series of short movies, each capturing the fascinating, meaningful, and unexpected perspective of a young filmmaker. A project we believe will evolve and grow over time, reflecting the ever-changing landscape of contemporary cinema.
